RG LIVE
RG Live is a wholly owned division of Sony Music Masterworks.
In 2023 RG Live produced and promoted 300 events and sold more than 3.5 million tickets to live events across 50 locations globally.
Founded in 1966 as Raymond Gubbay Ltd, the company is proud of its track record in creating world class events and ever-evolving experiences, challenging production stereotypes and setting new industry standards, whilst being recognised at the forefront of popular shows and events with both quality and value for money at their heart: illuminated trails, concerts, music festivals, opera, ballet and unique experiential concepts all contribute to a diverse and innovative portfolio.
Collaborative spirit is a core strength of the company which has led to many partnerships with iconic, multi-year events and seasons working with the Royal Albert Hall, the Royal Botanic Gardens Kew, Blenheim Palace, the BBC, Ministry of Sound, Ambassador Theatre Group, the National Trust, Forestry England and more. New for 2024 is a long-term partnership with Merlin Entertainments and there are continuing relationships with composer and conductor Sir Karl Jenkins, Jo Whiley (90s Anthems), Gary Davies (BBC Radio 2 Sounds of the 80s) and The Brand New Heavies who celebrated sellout tours across the UK in 2023. Abroad, the company is delighted to be working in partnership with botanical gardens on a global scale including Chicago, Brooklyn, Fort Worth and San Diego in the U.S.A., Melbourne, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane in Australia.
In the dynamic landscape of live events the company also continues to entertain audiences with orchestral music. Traditional concerts of Beethoven 9, The Planets and Carmina Burana remain very much part of the portfolio, led by our much-loved performances of The Music of Zimmer vs Williams, Classical Spectacular, Music from the Movies, Space Spectacular and many more. Added in 2024 is our first venture into film with live orchestra with tours of Paddington and Rocketman.
Each year the Christmas season forms an integral part of the company’s work through its longstanding relationships with the Barbican, Royal Festival Hall and Cadogan Hall in London, Symphony Hall Birmingham, Royal Concert Hall Nottingham, Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Concert Hall in Glasgow and Dublin’s National Concert Hall.
As well as working frequently with the UK’s leading symphony orchestras we also operate our own ensembles around the UK, including the London Concert Orchestra, Manchester Concert Orchestra, Scottish Concert Orchestra and Mozart Festival Orchestra all of whom regularly perform in the company’s own shows as well as being hired for tours and special events.
As part of the company’s heritage, it has been proud to present some of the world’s leading artists. From opera there have been notable concerts with Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Netrebko, Bryn Terfel, Angela Gheorgiu, Joseph Calleja and Rolando Villazon, and dance seasons at the London Coliseum included the New York City Ballet, Mark Morris Dance Group, Carlos Acosta, Sylvie Guillem, Bejart Ballet and American Ballet Theatre. Well known for our co-productions at London’s Royal Albert Hall, the successful partnership that was forged broke records by bringing ‘in-the-round’ arena scale opera and ballet to the masses. Titles included Swan Lake and Romeo & Juliet with English National Ballet as well as our own productions of La Bohème, Tosca, Carmen, Aida and a widely acclaimed staging of Madam Butterfly which wowed audiences in excess of 50,000 people each time when the arena floor was flooded to create a stunning Japanese water garden.
As RG Live continue to grow, no event is off limits! A small company with big ambitions and a market leading team, we are excited to see where the next few years take us…
